Was there a divorce decree between Obama Sr and Stanley Ann? I am ignorant of that detail. I have read that there is question that any marriage ceremony occurred either in Hawaii or in Kenya. One account says that they “hopped a plane to Maui and got married” in February of 1961. Details about this event are quite contradictory. If there was a marriage, Obama Sr certainly was out of the picture when Stanley Ann arrived in Seattle, Washington three weeks after Baby O was born.

It is my theory that the Stanley Ann-Obama Sr relationship ended in Kenya when the couple went to get Obama Sr’s blessing from his father. It was there that either the interracial or the cultural nature of the relationship did not work for Obama Sr’s father, Hussein Onynago Obama. There must have been some real fireworks. Hussein probably threatened to disown his son. Being a Muslim, Hussein may have even contemplated a lashing for his son who showed such a disregard for his father's values.

A photo of the divorce decree was posted here not too long ago; I’ve been sort of sick and not kept track of where anything is but others know.

It definitely looked like an authentic divorce decree; despite the fact that no one had been able to verify the claims that a marriage had taken place. The significance of the marriage having been held (as proved by the divorce decree) is that if 0bama was born in Kenya, and the parents were married, he may not even be a US citizen at all unless he was naturalized some time later.
