Start when the Mycenaean Age suddenly burnt out and the “Dark Age” started.

Colonial times before the English took over or when the Spanish started to settle as well as the French and Dutch later on in the north? When banns started or when marriage licenses replaced banns starting around the 1680-90’s?

Reproduction contracts? Yea that would fit people who were primarily Christian or Jewish who formed Western Civilization since Constantine. Before that marriage was though to ensure civilization's survival (Research my first sentence above).

By the way, Churches were the “center” of the city, working closely with whatever the local government was at the time.

Also marriage was used to cement Empires/Countries (See the marriage of Queen Isabella and Prince Ferdinand) the need for order I guess is foreign to some people. Brave new world indeed, refuse to recognize an ongoing institution designed (Ultimately by God) to offer stability in exchange of “hurting” queers feelings, no thanks.

“When banns started or when marriage licenses replaced banns starting around the 1680-90’s?”

Right. Government was not always involved. What is the need for government involvement and does government involvement need to be more now than when it started and if so why? If the answer to that is to ensure civilization’s survival, to what extent is government involment needed and is that even true of modern society or could other means be established?

“(Research my first sentence above)”

I don’t believe that response will prevail during debate in the “public square”.
