Dick Cheney’s Wyoming homecoming met with standing ovation, invitation to ‘fish and write’

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) Former Vice President Dick Cheney has returned to the state that helped launch his political career more than 40 years ago.
Cheney and his wife, Lynne, received a standing ovation Wednesday at the state Capitol where he began his political career as a legislative intern. Cheney, who recently strained his back moving boxes, sat in a wheelchair and carried a cane in his lap.

“...becoming increasingly liberal” is happening in the South too. Liberals come into the once conservative areas, drawn by their conservative values, bringing their liberal ideas with them polluting and changing what was once a beautiful area. It's sad and frustrating.
Hopefully, the Cheney's will have a calm and relaxing retirement. I loved hearing him speak. He has such a wise “the adults are in charge now” demeanor about him. Lynn is a feisty little banty hen. :-) Such good people.
Most importantly to me, the article said the VP is thinking about writing a book. Yaaayyyyy...books forthcoming from both GWB and RBC are an answer to my prayers. Their insights and viewpoints are critical parts of the record of their extraordinary terms in office. Their stories need to be told through their own eyes and voices. It can take up to two years for books to go from concept to publication, but I'll be waiting for theirs with great anticipation.
