I wasn't gloating--just pointing out the facts. There are no other technicalities. The mistake has been picked up by others. GOOGLE "Obama goofs" and you'll see corroboration. I was watching his speech while I was on the bike at my health club, and immediately mentioned the goof to several people there. They thought I was being hyper-technical and super-critical. Nevertheless, I was correct.
As you said, it is hard to believe that no one in the Obama camp, from the guy who wrote the speech to Obama himself, caught this. If he were a republican, this would be all over the news.
As to your last line, above--this did not involve the oath of office. This was part of his inaugural address.
