Separately, I think we could do without the Klan references today that are coming from some quarters. We know Bird and Kennedy have dark pasts - this is not the day to dwell on it.

I agree - we should not dwell on or underscore Ted Kennedy’s involvement in the death of an innocent young woman, nor his getting kicked out of college for cheating, and his anti-American policies should also remain unmentioned.

As for Byrd, You are again correct that his Klan past and his infamous pork-barreling should likewise remain unspoken facts.

So thank you for pointing out in a dignified manner that the potential demise of these two questionable and dishonorable characters should lead us to give a pass to the previous acts committed by those corroded souls.
