Kellogg had recalled 16 products last week because of the possibility of salmonella contamination.
On Monday, the company based in Battle Creek, Mich., said the Food and Drug Administration confirmed contamination in a single package of Austin Quality Foods Toasty Crackers with Peanut Butter.

Thanks for the link. I have two boxes of Ritz Bits peanut butter crackers I get to keep!
“Austin Quality Foods Toasty Crackers with Peanut Butter.”
That I’m nibbling on AS I READ THIS!!
Crap! I sent it a pack to school for my daughter’s snack.
I need to call them.
As I said in a comment to an earlier story containing almost this exact same non-statement of reassurance; that answers all my questions.
Huh. I have some too in the pantry. Been there awhile. I can’t find any # or time frame for the recalled ones. O/T but I have to be careful buying these things. I love peanut butter and jelly but they have a cracker that is packaged similarly. Those things....yuk!
I eat the Austin Toasty Crackers with peanut Butter all the time. I had some yesterday before I knew of this. I’ll risk eating the rest in the package since I didn’t get sick yesterday.
Yeah, those PB&J crackers are NASTY!
He had bought a big pack of Austin PB Crackers at SAM's and no idea about the recall.
Smucker’s Natural Crunchy Peanut Butter: peanut butter just doesn’t get any better than that.
What about Skippy peanut butter?
Meijer brand (chain is based in Michigan), Kroger (ditto), Kellogg and General Mills (duh).

If you would like to be added or dropped from the Michigan ping list, please freepmail me.
Dagnabbit! I buy Meijer peanut butter by the vat, and I just got back from my weekly shopping. Call me the waaaaahmbulance!
Freepers,
This may well be my last post before I go to that great internet site in the sky, for you see, I injested a copious amount of peanut butter today, yea, this very morning for breakfast, I took in my not formerly nicotene stained fingers, the very bastion of brown death which was mixed with honey, oatmeal, rice krispies and raisins, otehrwise known as peanut butter balls.
At great risk to my future and that of my family, I allowed the brown plague to bypass my teeth, slide past my tongue, down my very throat and into the dark recesses of my stomach, wherein the calumny of posions will begin it’s wicked course through my veins.
My FRiends, I bid you a fond farewell.
Unless I survive, as I fully intend to do until tomorrow when the gamble with my very life begins yet again.
Wow, didn’t know it went this far! Thanks so much for the Ping, Grellis!
fortunately, it appears that the girl scout cookies on sale now are not contaminated, so anyone in the lansing area (hint hint grellis) who wants to buy cookies is safe. :)
All thanks to sunkenciv. I’ve got my 80oz tub ready to go.
I'm not kidding! They don't do cookie sales anywhere around me.
