After making them suffer two long and painful years in solitary confinement in a maximum security prison, President Bush, on his very last day of office, having received more than five million emails, letters, postcards and telephone calls from citizens all across the country, finally commuted the sentences of Ignacio "Nacho" Ramos and Jose Compean, two brave and decorated Border Patrol agents, improperly charged with the non-crime of using a firearm as they stopped a drug dealer from bringing in more than 700 pounds of narrcotics into the U.S.
Please accept my thanks for your great effort in working for the release of these two men who can now reunite with their families and begin their lives over again.

I simply believe that law enforcement officers should uphold the law. Trials and executions are beyond the scope of their duties. Did you also know that Ramos and Compean ignored illegal border crossers? That they referred to themselves as “The Drug Shift”? I realize from your tone that your mind is made up and you can not be confused with facts. Oh well. I will pray that someone looks out for you and protects you from yourself.

I have read the documents on the case...and both Ramos and Compean were innocent of any crime.
In fact, this myth of “they didnt report the incident to superiors” is total BS, and propogated by the pro-illegal supporters. In fact, their supervisors were there immediately after the shooting (the supervisors were called on the radio) and the supvs. told Ramos and Compean to pick up their shells. It is in the investigative reports (which took forever for DOJ and DHS to release when Congress ordered them released).
Not sure if you are here just to flame, or to promote illegal alienism...but you definitely are not familiar with the case.

I keep reading that these two agents are in solitary confinement? Why is that? Also heard that they would most likely be let out of prison within two months. Why is that? TIA.
