agreed. I just don’t get that. Pitch in ? what the heck does that mean? Between state and federal taxes, I pay somewhere between 40 and 50 % of my income.
abolish the Fed Income Tax, or at the very least go to a flat tax of 10 % and I’ll think about “pitching in”.. picking up trash or whatever.
and the weird thing is, we do pitch in! anyone remember how much money was given to the Tsunami Relief Effort?

Same here, but I sure as hell won’t go to a hellhole like DC. I’ll pick up the occasional piece of litter in my neighborhood, though. Oh, wait — I already do that. It’s called pride in home and neighborhood... something sorely lacking in “da hood.”
