Does thew name Ronald Wilson Reagan mean anything to you? The man who faced majorities working against him yet in many cases still managed to get the job done? Bush is of the Snowe, Collins, McCain, Graham, Chafee, and his dear friend Specter side of the GOP. IOW A Country Club North East Rockefeller Liberal. Unless you have been in a deep Coma for the past eight years you would have realized as much Sheesh...

It is also no secret Bush destroyed some good conservatives shots at house and senate seats to support in the primaries old family friends. If the friend lost the primary to the conservative then W lost interest in the seat.

Bush accomplished one thing the DEMs could not. He divided the GOP in half and abandoned the Conservative side for his 30 pieces of his so called Free Trade Silver. Remember as well it was Bush who in 2000 said he and Mr Gore were not that far apart on issues. Remember that one? I do and likely so do many more persons. To that he was true. Christie Todd Whittman as EPA as an example. What a disaster.

There will never be another Reagan.

The Democrats realize that his ability to bring the parties together was part of what made him a legend and they will see to it that no Republican does it again.

In case you hadn’t noticed, the Republican party was divided before GWB took office as evidenced by the names of the Senators I listed in the previous post. Add the media’s distortions of Foley and Craig and their hatred of all things Republican and surely you can find many other people or entities to blame than this one man.

As for the Republican party being divided, perhaps a good long look in the mirror would be a good start. I have seen people being torn apart on this forum for not belonging to the 100% Conservative club. The only problem is that I can’t figure out who wrote the by-laws for the club. Was it Buchanan? Ron Paul?

I’d like to think it was Reagan because he helped form every one of my political beliefs but he granted amnesty to millions of Mexicans so I assume he wasn’t invited to be a member of the club either. In fact, were he to get the nomination nowadays I suspect you’d call him a RINO California Lib. He used to be a Democrat ya know.

You mean the Ronald Wilson Reagan who signed the ‘86 amnesty law which accelerated the flood of illegals into this country and, thus, was the catalyst for the Ramos & Campion debacle?
