H/T to the Drudge report:
The Hero Of Flight 1549
Veteran pilot, 57, safely landed US Airways jet in Hudson River
************************EXCERPT*********************
JANUARY 15--Meet Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger, III, the US Airways pilot who today amazingly crash-landed a US Airways jet in New York's Hudson River without any apparent fatalities. The heroic Sullenberger, 57, has worked for US Airways since 1980, and before that spent more than six years as a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot.

Give Capt. Sully the “Chuck Yeager Award” !

It didn’t “crash” in the Hudson River. It made a perfect belly landing on the water, with landing gear up.

For about an hour into the story, FoxNews and NY1 were reporting that it was a ‘small plane’. They did the same with 911. I guess that’s the way people who called in described it to them.

Yeah, it looks maybe a mile and a half wide, probably double that of the Detroit River. I was picturing something narrower (maybe more like the east river) and with a bridge every few feet.

I wonder if he knew the Ferry Site was nearby?

> Airbus A320... Officials believe the plane may have collided with a flock of geese.
Thanks Ernest.

In the scheme of things, it definitely isn't the biggest plane out there.
(A320 compared to A380)

Any idea just where the plane went into the river?
on the satellite map...
To: Larry Lucido
Maybe the same size as the Boeing 737...

In the scheme of things, it definitely isn't the biggest plane out there. (A320 compared to A380) Sure, but when people hear 'small plane', they generally think Piper or something of the sort.
not...
