Considering the methane clouds are cyclic, and appear more frequently in the summer months on Mars, it's only one possibility that microbes are creating methane, and not the only possibility.
Methane is found on other planets/moons, which means there is an abundant fuel source out there and other carbons and hydrogen compounds that occur naturally.
The exciting part of this discovery is Mars looks more and more hospitible for a jump off to the rest of the galaxy and the stars.
How could I resist that?
I need something to laugh about as I clean my guns, and garlic & bacon coat my ammo.
When I saw that “Clouds of methane...” headline, I thought it was a weather forecast for Malfunction Junction on January 20th!

OMG! There are cows there!
Look at the large flat area. To the right of it is an upright black form. This looks like a perfect cow head profile looking upwards. You can see the ear, eyes and nose!

Agreed, It’s amazing to me that folks don’t pick up on it, this is almost a weekly announcement and people still report it as if it’s real news. Everytime I see such a thing I nearly burst out laughing, there is very little critical thinking today.

The Bible has nothing to say about life on other planets. If there are microbes on Mars, it does not contradict the Bible at all.
No, I am not plugging my blog, but I wrote a post earlier addressing the issues that Christians might wrongly have if life exists on Mars. If anyone don't like me pointing to my blog, then don't click the link -- I don't need to advertise on FR to bring in readers.

For reasons ( probably to avoid phd’s being wrong ) the theory is that methane on earth is still organic in origin. Then all the other methane is not of organic origin. Except on mars where apparently we want their to be life so that means the martian is organic and there is life.
Not being silly thats just how the “scientists” have it cooked up right now.
The reality is that methane is abiotic even here ( except the swamp gas kind ) as is most of the petroleum.
But don’t say it out loud or someone will holler at you.

No. Genesis 1:6 says "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth [eretz or erets], and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
Only man is made in God's image. Not the animals. Furthermore, the Hebrew word eretz has a number of meanings, but none of them necessarily imply other planets. If life is found on Mars or any other planet, then we can safely agree that eretz has an additional meaning.
Again, there is nothing in the Bible inferring that life is only limited to earth.
