I realize that, what I meant was that it could not be done while still holding true to our ideals of freedom.

“Polygamy has many reasons for being criminalized. Not the least of which is that in a society where one man has four wives (Islamic lands) three men can not have a wife.

Those unmarried males are surplus males and become cannon fodder, probable sodomites, ad nauseam.”

I agree that that has been the case in societies that have allowed polygamy, however I do not think that would be the case in the America of today. And in this day and age I can very well see many American women having multiple husbands.

Especially, if one counts sequential polygamy, A.K.A. ‘easy divorce’.

Much more so when the growing data base in the biological sciences allows control of outward signs of aging.
