Operation Chaos created the path for Obama. Rush knows it as well as everyone else. Obama is his creation to some extent.
Quite the contrary. Operation Chaos was specifically designed to help Hillary back into contention -- to give Obama some competition. Somebody had to publicly air Obama's negatives -- since McCain's campaign had already promised not to go negative on Obama. Hillary was the only person who could do this.
Recall that, once Operation Chaos started, Hillary started winning primaries. Indeed, it was clear that she would not have won several states (e.g., Indiana) had it not been for Operation Chaos and conservatives re-registering as Democrats.
Operation Chaos achieved its objective. It helped Hillary make a race of it. And gave her an opportunity to throw a little mud.
Thus, it's hardly "responsible" for Obama in any way.
It's probably better to fight Obama the Red now while there is enough of a conservative opposition. The beast may not be able to make a comeback after four years of failure. And she only becomes more shrill and desperate with age.

I would really like to read your reasons for believing this. Obama was on the way to a primary sweep in the early spring. How did Rush help him, and what, instead, would have hurt his progress to the nomination?
