"...unless it had help from the target of the crime, or his extended family"
I tell ya it was Jackie all along. She's getting back at Jack for embarrassing her blueblood pride with fooling around with such a commoner as Marilyn Monroe. The "Happy Birthday" fiasco pushed Jackie O over the edge.
Face it
She's got motive, the means and the ability.
She's an" insider"
She's got "connections" with other powerful people.
With Bobby as Attorney General and her secret lover, he would cover it up for her.
His Motive?
As long as Jack is in the White House and married to Jackie, Bobby would never become President.
Gee!!! Isn't conspiracy games fun!!!/sar.

Sorry, I misread your post. We were not lucky to have Kennedy as President at that time. It was a mistake.

Somethimies assassination is the answer and a very good one at that.
Let me ask you this, if it were 1937 and you were armed in a room with Hitler and knew exactly what he was going to do and no one else was in the room. What would you have done?
What if there were some problem with Kennedy that warrented just such acrion?

No, that’s not my contention. What I’m saying is that people can be manipulated, or panicked to do something, which may serve the purposes of a conspiracy. So the effect is to make the conspiracy seem larger than it is. Again, if Johnson thought Castro had JFK killed, he could have enacted a cover-up, to prevent a war. To some, that would seem as though the Cubans and the govt conspired to kill JFK and cover it up.

Well you have me at a disadvantage, as I'm at work and away from my source material. But the initial Marina Oswald reaction (and this is documented) is that she couldn't say for sure if it was O's gun.
Marina has consistently said that Oswald did it, at least after she spent lots of time being interrogated by the FBI. But again, her initial reaction was not that.
Show me some evidence that Oswald was not the shooter.Well, that isn't the way it works. The accused doesn't have to prove innocence, the state has to prove guilt. But how about this: two women who worked at the depository ran down the stairs from one of the upper floors after the shooting. Oswald was found in the second floor lunch room by a policeman and one of the managers of the depository. Oswald would have to come down that staircase to get to the lunchroom, but neither woman saw him. Did he simply materialize?

"Well, that isn't the way it works."
No, that's precisely how it works. When you say:
"There's more evidence that Oswald was not the shooter, than evidence that he was."
Then I get to say, show me some evidence that Oswald was not the shooter.

"Marina has consistently said that Oswald did it, at least after she spent lots of time being interrogated by the FBI. But again, her initial reaction was not that." Marina has said from the very begining that she believed he did it, before being questioned by the FBI.
As for her recall of the rifle, if your standard is that she should identify the rifle to the exclusion of all other rifles in the world, then no of course she couldn't do that. But nobody depends on Marina to identify the rifle.
See, that's part of the problem with the way conspiracists argue the case. They pick out little irrelevant things that mean nothing and try to make something out of it. And that's assuming the things they pick are even true. You can't trust what someone writes in a conspiracy book.

Victoria Adams and Sandra Styles (the two women) descended the stairs several minutes later.

"Yeah? And the basis of your remarks is?" Personal knowledge of the case, the contents of The Men Who Killed Kennedy, and those rational conspiracists I mentioned. I know some of the people who wrote the best conspiracy books, some that even appeared in that show.

Ok. How about the Zapruder film, and the two issues it raises?
1. The reaction of Connally when JFK is hit by the second bullet. If they're both hit by the second bullet, why is Connally so slow to react? 2. The head shot, and JFK's move backward.

Just out of curiosity, how was the enhanced photo of the 2nd shooter faked and by whom? That segment was the one that grabbed me as it's evidence was right there in front of you and didn't involve supposition or conjecture. It also involved other people ie; the soldier in his uniform.
I have never believed that a big conspiracy could have been kept quiet. I believe Oswald fired his gun and hit the president. But I wouldn't be surprised if the mother of all coincidences occurred and there were TWO discrete shooters there that day. It's a very simple conjecture that would satisfy a lot of the "what about this" mumbo jumbo.
