It is news because with global warming, Michigan is suppose to become a tropical paradise that vacationers from florida will flock to when global warming turns the pitiful portions of the state not submerged by the melting ice caps into desert.

And which party runs Michigan, friends? Not to mention New Jersey, the State a clear majority of adults want to leave. The party that’s now in power in Washington? Oh, my!

New Jersey has a moving out tax to trap people in a corrupt state. I wonder if Michigan has one and if not, why the hell have they not considered that form of taxation. They seemed to have taxed everything else....

If they're heading south, they better leave their voting habits behind.

Odd. they list New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York as having among the highest outbound proportions. They also list Delaware as not being mid-Atlantic. Then they say that the Mid-Atlantic has the highest inbound proportion. These states make up the Mid-Atlantic states!

(Some people regard Maryland as Mid-Atlantic, others regard it as having been a southern colony, along with VA, NC, SC, and GA.)

It’s all of the Southerners who moved up here during the 50’s & 60’s moving back home. Virtually everybody I grew up with have family down South. It’s been interesting watching the State de-populate though. Outside of the Metro Detroit area, the number of empty houses and abandoned properties is staggering. If the RE prices keep dropping, I figure in a few years I could buy a County or two at a reasonable price.
