I haven't heard about that recently. Several years ago they were moving to PC because the PPC-based Apple hardware couldn't keep up. But the OS X operating system still has tricks up its sleeve that Windows doesn't have, and they mostly relate to graphics and video.
For color management, Microsoft finally integrated it into the OS as of Vista, but still most applications aren't written to take advantage of it. In its nascent stage it's not nearly as useful as Apple's ColorSync, which has been OS-pervasive since day one, and most applications that deal with graphics, certainly all the professional ones, are written to use it.
WCS (Vista color management) is even really aimed at the pro-sumer at the highest, no surprise since it was co-developed with Canon. ColorSync was, and is, aimed at pleasing up to high-end professional users.
In general, Microsoft's philosophy was to dumb-down color management so developers could easily do it by, well, dumbing-down the color management itself. An Apple developer just has to hook into ColorSync, which includes the intelligence necessary to get professional-grade color management.
How you do the link with the address concealed is like this:
< a href = http://cgi.ebay.com/Cisco-Aironet-802-11a-b-g-Wireless-Adapter-PCMCIA_W0QQitemZ130279628956QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item130279628956&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50>Cisco Aironet PCMCIA Network Adapter< /a >
which, if you remove the spaces before the a href and around the /a, comes out looking like this:
That’s still $180 for a Wifi card. Does it come with the porn already pre-downloaded or what?
bttt
Based on Unix :-)
Where did you get the download, I thought it wasn’t out yet? I’d like to get a copy of this and install it on my laptop so I can everyone at work what kind of horror we can expect with our next big order of computers........
I didn’t
That was wireplay. I expect he (she?) will be off line for a while...
I would NEVER EVER EVER touch a new MS product until it has been out at least a year.
I just want to see what the new OS looks like; I don’t plan on keeping it any length of time for long term use. I’m gonna put XP back on my laptop now that I’ve failed in my Vista/XP network project. No matter what I do, I can’t get Vista to see my XP computer and it’s maddening. I’ve given up.
Been online all day. That’s why I have 6 machines so I can test on various hardware.
Windows 7 said it wasn’t compatible with my circa 2003 hardware and reverted to Vista. It was all clean and it ran very quick. I’ll give it another go once I check some system settings but my client needs their app built as well.
That said, Windows 7 is available for MSDN subscribers.
Check your workgroup setting.
It doesn't work, even with all the network settings as they're supposed to be for file sharing, as it's supposed to. It's a sham of an operating system and it's not network friendly. Gates should be ashamed to put out such a sh&tty product.
I run Vista on 4 machines and XP on 2 ( as well as a rouer, a wireless gateway, and 2 hubs) and I have them all communicating w/o an issue and I didn’t do that much to get it all working.
Vista has flaws but to call it a sham is absurd.
There are other things, other than the O/S, involved in networking such as NICs, routers, cables, and the user.
Thanks.
