I do worry about cross contamination in a battle situation. That’s the last thing I’d want you guys to worry about.

DoD policy:

AD members with serologic evidence of HIV infection determined to be fit for duty shall be allowed to serve in a manner that ensures access to appropriate medical care.

Everybody should have access to medical treatment for illness and injuries incurred while serving. I gather the DOD policy has already had to treat HIV infections and has established a policy of placing them in noncombatant situations, if I read between the lines correctly.
