WASHINGTON -- Roland Burris headed to Capitol Hill Tuesday to demand a seat in the 111th Congress, insisting that if he isn't allowed to take the oath of office as the next senator from Illinois, the Senate could have a lawsuit on its hands.
Participating in the theatrics, Burris was greeted by Sergeant at Arms Terrance Gainer, a door-keeper and an official from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's office before going to the appointment desk on the third floor and to the secretary of the Senate. There, his credentials were denied.
Burris was appointed by Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who was arrested last month and accused of trying to sell the vacated U.S. Senate seat previously held by President-elect Barack Obama.

None of this would matter if they didn’t take half our incomes and provide nothing to the American people they are suppose to represent.

Sad times. The Fed once again assumes power over our States.
Impeach Reid and the like for not supporting the Constitution.
Dunno why the GOP hasn't jumped on the support Burris bandwagon. It would surely add fuel to the fire.

HAHAHAHHA!!!!! This is hilarious! Well, it serves him right! He was appointed by a corrupt governor who tried to sell the seat in the first place.
I really think that the people of Illinois should be allowed to have a special election for senator. Wouldn’t it be HILARIOUS if a Republican got in???

"I'm not going to make a scene," Burris said. "I don't want to give you all a circus."Don't forget bread.

Harry Reid, what a racist. He didn’t have a problem when other appointments from ‘questionable’ governors where appointed such as Chris Dodd. I’m sure he won’t have a problem swearing in Stewart Smalley.. hmm.. what is the difference...

Next comes the lawsuit. Then Old Harry caves and compromises by seating Jesse Jackson Jr. as was planned all along.Jim on Quinn & Rose was postulating that theory about Jackson Jr. on his show yesterday, I believe.

He will sing. He was the bright-eyed boy to be the Chicago candidate for POTUS until the messiah came along, so I'm sure there is no love lost....But he will do it in a deal to get lighter treatment from Fitz.
