Here is the story behind the "Banned for Life" straight from Coulters lips.
Hannity and Colmes, Jan 5, 2009.
Ann Gets to Talk in spite of Alan's attempt to derail her.

Oh just saw the clip with CBS’ Harry Smith. Harry tried hard but he came off looking very amateurish and frankly unprofessional.
He called Ann sophmoric but he appeared just that without any substance to support his charge.
Ironic.
I know lots of teens and almost teens (tweens...lol what a lame [ghey lol] designation) and they use it as meaning dumb, lame, stupid etc.
But then choosing the homosexual lifestyle is dumb, lame, stupid etc.
So maybe it means all of the above, homo and urban dictionary.
There was a court case I followed in a town near me, where a girl student used the term “gay”, in the use of the definition ghey.
She made it clear she didn't use it to mean homosexual.
Look outside the university and you may see what I have observed.
Even if they do mean “thats so homosexual are you sure they mean it in a sexual way?
Oh and I agree...this whole thingie is so silly.
In fact, it's GHEY!
LOL
Oh, and the court case?
PC rules ruled, she was castigated for using the term "gay."
He called Ann sophomoric but he appeared just that without any substance to support his charge.
Ironic.
Her answer was great, too.
She said that sophomoric is NY times code for funny.
Harry was pathetic.
Yes he does. Colmes reminds me of a preying mantis my kids caught last summer.
Ann Coulter to Appear on Wednesday's 'Today' Show
He was told that it was "lifestyle" thing, that it was an attack on gays, and the Chamber of Commerce got involved saying it was going to affect Ft. Lauderdale tourism to stop it.
Apparently, local gay newspapers advertised specific bathrooms as gay destinations.

Harry was very weak. And I guess he felt he would get pats on the back from his liberal pals.
Someone should tell him that he didn’t come off very well with his poor attempt at substance. But considering the Colmes nonsense, I guess that’s what passes as improvement.
Their little fiasco got her booked on the CBS show this morning.
And now on NBC after all.
A win win for Ann Coulter.
She's like mercury, toss her down and she comes back all over the place.
Poor girl, they are going to have to go into the second printing sooner than expected.
And she will have quite an addendum to add!
oooh, I want Kirsten Powers too!!
Hannity: "What was the Katie Couric thing [that you said] again?"
Coulter: "The affable Eva Braun of morning tv."
And now on NBC after all.Leno must have called, and got them to lift the curse -- so that he can get Ann on HIS show. :o)
From her PREVIOUS appearance with Jay, courtesy of DoughtyOne:
“This is like being fired from Chrysler.”
“They wanted to cover major news . . .” Alan
“Perez Hilton??? Ann
“Obama gets good coverage because he does the right things.”—Alan Comb
“Marriage has been under attack for 30 years.”
“Adopted children do better than regular children.”
“I don't insult single mothers. I attack single motherhood”
[based upon factual results]
I’m so gay started out with “you are acting gay” when some guy was acting something that could be construed as gay in some way. It was to imply you were gay. It’s over the years come to the youngers to mean your doing something stupid, wrong, really anything. This coming from a college student with a tween brother (well I guess teenager now... He’s getting so old :( ) . However, I would assume it would be used in it’s original form if his friends were doing something perceived as really gay.
Then again it’s just my opinion.
More quotes from our dear Ann:
“If you take out single motherhood, blacks and whites are economically equal.”
“Adopted children do better on every single category of well being.”
Many, many factual quotes.
“Divorced and single moms cause $212 billion in welfare money.”
“Keep your knees together before marriage.”
“Liberals hate the nuclear family—” Ann
“Liberals hate the nuclear family???” Alan
“Stop interrupting!” Ann
“I lost my head.” Alan
That was pretty funny.
You’re right. After I thought about the humility issue, I realized that would be like blood to a shark. You can’t let your guard down for a minute with lefties - they’re just looking for a sign of weakness.
Kinda like my former in-laws.....
I especially like this one:
Stop interrupting!
Like a little misbehaving child he cringes and backs away...LOL
She sternly mothers him so well...
Too many people must have watched it and agreed with the content.
Here's the Fox and Friends one again, maybe it will stay up.
I'm in the process of uploading a video from Inside Edition's show where Coulter appeared today. To: AllAnn Coulter appeared on Fox and Friends this morning. Not only did she talk about her book, but she also commented on important political issues such as Senator Reid not wanting to seat a Black Senator, but will seat Al Franken who saw to it that votes were changed and added until the outcome favored him as the winner.
