I don’t mean to be flippant but “How did the text messages target only the Jews in NY?” Were they sent only to the cell phones of the Jews a local synagogues? Were these intelligent text messages and they knew which cell phones to be delivered? Should I be worried that at some point they will target the cell phones of White Christians in Texas because we support Israel? How can I protect my cell phone from these unwarranted text messages because it’s probably going to cost me 0.20 cents? ... Worry ... Worry ... Fret ... Fret

The text messenging article, I am not sure of, but the cabbie comments are real, at least those reported to my friend.

mY FRIEND HAS BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH THE fbi AND jttf PEOPLE ALL DAY AND ALSO OTHERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY

sorry, caplock

Anyways, I only sent my information out as freepmail earlier because I had no other source. When soeone sent me the article on the text messenging stuff, I used that as a vehicle to expand with what I learned today

The warnings from the taxi drivers are real

Several people we know, in 3 unrelated incidents, all reported that they themselves or a direct family member received this warning in the last 2 or 3 days

My friend is no dummy and has friends in the FBI, JTTF and other places and they all informed him they had heard of these warnings for the last 2 days

They also confirmed that people who had left the country had heard these warnings from taxi drivers in NYC and reported it when outside the country.

I dont know for sure about the texting, how you got people’s numbers is beyond me, but the other stories, we have the original names and know the sources who told my friend it happened to them.

One of them is highly involved in terrorism awareness within the US and they took this quite seriously.

A Hoax? Maybe, but a hoax perpetrated by TAXI drivers, not by internet rumors as the more immature among this thread have implied.

And there you've hit on the subtle anti-semitism that helps spread rumors like this. Of course, if a Jew got such a warning, his first thought would be to warn his coreligionists; and of course there would be some means to do so, some contact list we Goyim aren't aware of.

One of the more widespread urban legends after 9/11, particularly virulent in the Muslim world, was that Jews who worked at the World Trade Center were warned to stay away from work on that day. Some versions even had them receiving a call from the Israeli consulate, as if they have a master phone tree they can use to contact every American Jew.

What, you mean you don’t have a Jew/Not Jew setting on your phone? It’s one of my options.
