The writer of the article made this statement, the quote is not from the context of Mr. Paul's actual comments.
It makes Paul a terrorist apologist and justifies use of less powerful weapons.
You're a Navy vet? When did you serve? I ask because if you were active duty during Desert Storm you would have seen the Bush administration halt the war against Iraq after the 'highway of death' incident. Why did he do that and leave such a dangerous dictator in power?
Clinton executed the war in Kosovo from 20,000 feet. He bombed the infrastructure into vapor. The media was careful not to report civilian casualties.
Next, the current Iraq war has been executed with boots on the ground as opposed to leveling massive firepower against the Iraqis and finishing it off quickly. Why did GW Bush execute the war in this fashion? It is certain that American casualties have been higher because of this strategy.
Given the Bush Clinton Bush policies of the last 24 years, how is what Mr. Paul is saying, is different than what these presidents executed?

Yes, Navy, Vietnam '66-'68.
GHW Bush, Clintoon, and GW Bush were not subjects of the thread. I did not realize that US defense policy and rules of engagement were binding on Israel, and enforceable by a Congressman. You will have to ask the ex-presidents the why of all this as I cannot explain it.
I have no personal distaste for Ron Paul, and the quote from the article fits his recent pattern of political behavior.
I might take Ron more seriously if he would regularly lay around in a lawn chair outside all day, in Siderot.
