To: Chief Engineer

There were very few blacks at UH Manoa in 1961, and what few there were were overwhelmingly American. One of them was a housemate of mine, and I can tell you, he was very short of African American friends. As for Africans, i can’t say for sure, but I never met any others. There weren’t any with the high profile of Obama, that’s for sure. I’d say that the Frank Davis quote is a safe bet to have been in reference to Obama. If it wasn’t I’d be at a total loss to offer up an alternative explanation.

Thank-you, that is what I had assumed when I found the quote but I wanted some type of “verification” if you will! Frank Davis Marshall actually wrote that “the Kenyan split leaving behind TWO pregnant blondes”! That might be one reason why Ann was back in WA and stayed there!
