Being avery young teen-age mom, I think that she would be happy to let anyone change the dirty diaper if they were willing to. I don’t think it had anything to do with her knowledge of how to do it. She was an only child and probably not all that used to cleaning up and doing stuff for herself. So she let her friend play Mommy with her baby because it was convenient to her.
That’s why I don’t think she traveled alone...SHe WAS a newly wed going to visit her inlaws for the first time....You dont travel alone to a totally different culture to do that....You travel with your husband or he with you.
Mommy might have gone too. Or another of SRs relative to “help her”
