In a related pet peeve, most people these days begin toilet training WAY too late. A kid should be able to hit the pot most of the time at the age of eighteen months.

Uh..what about all the velcro shoes. There are a lot of grade school kids who cannot tie their shoes because parents do not want to take the time to teach them. Just wanted to give you my pet peeve. Don’t even start me on training wheels...sheesh.

Believe it or not, my oldest was potty trained at 11 months. She also started walking and talking (real words) at ten months.

My second started talking 14 months and was potty trained at 16 months. We were getting all worried about it.

Most parents defeat a natural inclination to potty train by being too lazy. Diapers allow you to put things off till later.
