You don't have to be hippie to not want to spend a fortune on useless preservation.
My (new) body might last for eternity, but no amount of money is going to stop my mortal remains from returning to the elements after I die.
I agree with you.
I personally want to donate my body to science, cremate the rest and turn the carbon ashes into diamonds for my children.
