Let's cut through the bluster. Reid has neither the authority nor the will to terminate this affirmative action pick. Blogo is still the governor and there is no legal authority other than the office of the governor to appoint Zero's replacement. This tool will be seated because the National Democratic Party will not buck the Jessie Jackson wing of the Democratic Party.

Oh, and thanks again Illinois. The fools you keep electing are playing with not only your lives and your dimes but they are now putting my family in danger as they play their silly and foolish games for personal power.

He doesn't. But the Senate majority does. I.e., the Democrat caucus can, for their own reasons, refuse to seat Burriss.

Article I, Section 5: Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members

Where such an action would leave the voters of Illinois -- unrepresented -- is, of course, another issue. But I doubt Harry Reid gives a damn about that.
