“(The Philistenese were basically the Greek version of Vikings from the Isle of Crete, I believe.)”
No, they weren’t. The Philistines were the inhabitants of southwest Caanan, or what is, ironically, the present-day Gaza Strip area, but also taking in Ashkelon.
I think you are confusing the Phoenicians with the Philistines.
No, I am not confused.
The Philistines were Mycenian, proto-Greek. Any of the links provided above show this. This only argument is if they can be narrowed to Crete, or one of the other Greek areas.
In fairness to you, the arabs have been printing crap like mad trying to claim Judea as their own, and have had undue influence on the modern education in this regard.
Do you know what a Philistine is, Bob?Gawd I love those lines.
It's Jim, sir.
I know. Go ahead, give 'em the pitch, Phil.
As a card-carrying member of the ‘Jewish Conspiracy’, I am hereby directing all my lackeys (non-Jews) to destroy Greece to the last man, woman, and child.

Why isn’t this working?!? For pete’s sake, the Greeks have already told us that we control the world... so do our bidding already!!!
:-P
Since when only leftists are anti-semitic?
You think wrong, DNA studies do not show Greeks and Turks are 'cousins'. Greeks just know how to hold grudges when it comes to people who they filll 'burned' them. They still are not over the fact that Israel and certain Jewish-American lobby groups totally backstabbed Greek interests in the Cyprus and other Balkan regional interests in favor of their 'enemies' the Turks. I wouldn't take what the Arvani says to heart, they always come up with way out there theories, back in 1985 it accused former Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis of selling state-owned corporations to "agents of foreign interests", i.e. Jews. LOL!
BTW, Arvani started out as a leftist newspaper throwing all its support behind PASOK, but in recent years even though under the new center-right government of N.D. it claims to support Karamanlis, it still has some among its higher ranks who are leftists. So this kind of talk is no suprise to people who are familiar with the history of Arvani. A few years back Greek Mass Media Minister Christos Protopapas brought a slander lawsuit against the newspaper. BUT Jews aren't the only group it attacks, it has also attack muslims often in it articles and it also attacks groups such as homosexuals often. If anything over the last few years its tone has taken on a very Nazi like far right ideology and xenophobic tone. Greek intolerance towards Muslims and islamophobia incidents in the country have been well documented for centuries now, its the only country in the EU who's capital does not have a mosque. ;-)
Athens under the shadow of anti-Muslim racism
A lot of far right are anti-semitic and in Greece the far right attack the Muslims just as often as the Jews and the last few years Arvani has taken on tones that sound very far right. ;-)
