Whoa....am I reading this right???...even in COLUMBUS proper...city council members aren’t elected...they are APPOINTED...chosen by other Council members???? sorry but WTF??? can you post a link to where you found this so I can try and learn more about it?

Council members are elected, provided that they last until election day. If not, the empty seat is filled by an empty head, appointed by the rest of the Council. Like a US Senator's seat in Illinois ;-)

There actually were three Council seats on the ballot last month. The incumbents all won.

The seats have already been decided from long before the person leaving actually goes. This "application" process is a legal formality. A big joke.
