Quite frankly, I don’t see why people on Free Republic care who the senator from New York is going to be. Ok if it was a red state...sure we should be upset with a liberal pick, but nobody seems to be asking who should be picked instead of Caroline...Would people here be happier with Cuomo? I don’t get it. If we believe that the senate seat should go to a Republican than we are fooling ourselves...that will not happen.

When a person leaves the senate before the term is over there is no election. The governor picks the replacement. This does happen in some red states too you know...lol.

This is the thing that slays me. They have orgasms over the thought of the Kennedy dynasty continuing to rule over the little people. But they truly cannot see the double standard when the thing they slammed Gov. Palin for (lack of experience) is far worse with Caroline Kennedy. How can anyone with intellectual honesty say that Sarah Palin was not qualified to be VP, but that Caroline Kennedy (a far more powerful position) is qualified? The only conclusion that I can come to is that liberals truly want to be ruled over by hereditary lords, no matter what they claim. Sarah Palin is the polar opposite of that. The Founding Fathers must be spinning at high RPMs right now.
