“In no way does this absolve him of not having adequate willpower, but it doesnt make him a sexual predator or a deviant. It makes him a human with failings”
I’ll argue this. He’s going on the sexual predator list, almost for certain. So he’s a sexual predator.
I see no irony. It’s merely a matter of selecting an employee for a job, and maximizing effectiveness.
There is no way that sex, or sexual electricity, between a youth pastor and teen girls is positive. There’s also the issue, even if the girl is 16 or 18, of the inappropriateness of the relationship. Not to mention that this was a church, at which sex outside of marriage is a sin.
So here’s how I would rank the candidates for the job:
Lowest: single non-Christian men. A non-starter. Better to not have a youth program at all.
Second lowest: married non-Christian man. Fellow probably doesn’t believe in sin, and will likely try to score with the of-age girls (above 16) if he can get away with it and without his wife knowing.
Next: single Christian man.
Highest: married Christian man.
No irony here.
Legal, perhaps. Ethical, no. A youth pastor to teens is as a high school teacher to students. Generally, teachers that grope students, much less “bang” them, are breaking the law, and certainly will lose their job. I think those laws hold regardless of the age. So if you’re into young girls who are technically legal, stay away from the ones who you are responsible for.
I do see irony.
This man would meet your highest criteria. He’ll be available just as soon as he posts bond.

Sorry, hit “post” too soon.
“Christian” is unfortunately subjective, and is of little value, in and of itself, in establishing if a person is morally decent.
I know many morally decent non-Christian folks. I know many self-proclaimed Christians who are otherwise.
Clearly you’re aren’t one or this would be a no-brainer for you. Christian isn’t the only qualification — churches use standard background investigations, etc. Assuming that you’ve hired someone in your lifetime (it’s not clear to me that you have), selecting someone for whatever the job is a combination of things. And the old Reagan motto to “trust but verify.”
But it’s one hundred percent guaranteed that they’d never hire YOU. Your petulant attitude shines through from the first word out of your mouth (or your keyboard).
Also, your link to another article is the most moronic attempt I’ve ever heard to prove a point. Get your head examined.

Clearly you are a bit naive, and testy. My point stands.

LOL. Look, argue the point, or not. You choose to not argue the point.
“Also, your link to another article is the most moronic attempt Ive ever heard to prove a point. Get your head examined.”
No, it really isn’t moronic. This guy (from the article) made it through a missionary character check with interview, and a background check. Surprised? Don’t be.
No need to apologize, but I would appreciate staying on topic and not questioning my Christianity.
Good point about the Church hierarchy. Whoever wrote that the floor of Hell was paved with the skulls of bishops was no doubt correct. Oh, if we could just have a good house cleaning.....
>> WHY does a male get charged with 6 felony counts
Because he’s a perfect revenue candidate for the private prison industry.
Go to your room.
