Gov. Rod Blagojevich scheduled a news conference today to make a statement to the media, his first public appearance since he was arrested last week on federal corruption charges.
Blagojevich has avoided the public eye for the most part since his arrest, but in recent days has told reporters camped outside his house that he is eager to talk to the people of Illinois.

No he will not. Blago is looking at enough time that he will die in prison at his age. In the federal system you serve 90-95 percent, not the 50 percent in state time. Blago will not go quietly. Blago’s ego is so big, when he breathes, he could inflate the blimp.

The Dems are good at that. Remember Obama's press conference? I think Blago will apologize for the negative light this has shed on Illinois and the toll it has taken on his family, but will not apologize for the pay-to-play scheme (as that would in essence admit guilt). I think he'll talk about how he came to power to reform Chicago politics and he will continue to fight to clear his good name.
