The biggest mistake Bush made was relying on the American public to see the war-on-terror through. After only a few weeks of the fighting in Afghanistan, the public was already war weary. The biggest mystery to me was the urgency in Iraq and why hasn't the Administration presented the full case.

GWB lost the political war at home and it wasnt just the ‘treasonous press”. After his high pressure sales pitch fall 2002 when he got his vote he just let the public come to it’s own conclusions, while watching daily disasters in Iraq and dark predictions even on FNC. And the conclusion they came to was dont trust a republican president on national security. Even the successful surge could not save McCain in 2008 (even with Obama opposing it and McCain on winning side on surge.)

You have to stay in touch with the public, especially as costs climb. I know this view is not popular here.

America is still a strong and steady ally in most cases, keep in mind we have a faction on the left which strives to undermine our commitments, and sympathizes with our enemies.

And we have a republican party that treats that faction with respect.

That’s not the fault of the public. That one belongs to the administration and the military.
The public was conditioned for years to expect victory at minimal cost in lives in a very short time. We thought it had happened again in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

No, "the American people" were NOT "war weary". It took that much time for the anti-war left and their allies in the media to get their propaganda machine cranked up to sell the idea that the American people were "war weary".

Occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan along with an alliance with Turkey effectively cuts the land bridge between Muslim counties in half. It especially cuts apart Syria and Iran. Forget all the talk about establishing democracy in the Mideast. This is purely a western alliance (the corporate wealth gangsters) asserting force to protect huge oil infrastructure from falling into the hands of uncontrollable Islamic gangsters. Our children are not dying to protect America. They are dying to protect the New World Order globalists.

Not really true, in my view. The treasonous leftist media began to publish demoralizing lies about lack of progress and quagmire, much as they did after Tet in 1968. Had they not done that in their unprincipled zeal to aid the democrats, things would have been quite different, ultimately including stopping the fraudulent election of a charlatan like Barack Obama. The “public” for the most part knows what the so-called MSM tell it, so when the media lie, the “public” accepts it as truth.

In 20 years they will dig up the records and proclaim that Bush was not stupid and did the right stuff.
