I normally don't stay up late enough to watch Late Night with David Letterman, but I happened to catch a little of it Thursday night, when Sen. John McCain was on. David Letterman make a rude joke about Gov. Sarah Palin, and John McCain laughed at it. That is when I realized I am done with John McCain.
. . . . .
If I were Rod Blago, I'd use some nice four-letter words to describe how I feel about Sen. McCain, but I'm not, so I won't.
. . . . .
I'm glad Sen. McCain didn't win the election. This way, I don't have to defend him anymore. If he were president, and he screwed up, or did something that was moderate, Republicans would have gotten the blame.
I'm washing my hands of Sen. McCain.
I'm tired of defending RINOs.
I'm not doing it anymore, and I know many in the Republican party are tired of it, too.

Well stated. I don’t watch Letterman either (although I used to, back during his early NBC years, in the early-to-mid-80s; I actually rather liked his show then). But, I did turn on the tv last Thursday night, as that interview with McCain was going on. Out of morbid curiosity, I decided to watch. Especially to see if the topic of Sarah Palin came up, as I’d heard Letterman had really been busy viciously pummelling her as a butt of jokes recently.
What did I see? Well, I saw McCain go out of his way to say what a marvelous Secretary-of-State that Hillary would make... and what a great guy and fine friend Ted Kennedy is... and what a terrific danger ‘global warming’ is, and seemingly agreeing with Letterman that the government should force the auto industry to make ‘green’ cars. Watching all this just made me want to vomit.
Then, of course, this Sunday, McCain continued his rampage on the talk-show circuit, condemning the GOP for daring to criticize Obama and Chicago-style politics, and then later on, capping things with that dismissal of supporting Palin as a potential candidate in 2012. I swear, although I cringe at all the horrific challenges that we face with Obama and the Dem-controlled Congress, I’m downright RELIEVED that we don’t have to endure McCain as president. In other words, it’s better to see your attacker in front of you, than be constantly stabbed in the back.
You can’t have a good leader without good blood. The two go together. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood.” Leviticus 17:11
I could only think of about one thing I liked in John McCain.
One thing.
He hates budget earmarks as much as I do.
That's all.
OK, I’ve had enough.
Please read this thread to realize my frustration with McCain - and this is only the tip of the ice berg.

If we can organize AZ FReepers around a conservative Arizonian willing to take him on, please private mail me. I am willing to take him on - cash included.
McCain is a big part of our problem. He must be retired the Republic way.
Jindal/Palin in 2012. (hopefully).
What took ya so long?
McCain is a disgrace. At some point along with Bush they have all become Democrats and they are just as much to blame for the continue failure of our country.
It is going to take occupation by a foreign force here before we wake up and start doing what’s right to make our country strong.
I can see this country fracturing within the next decade the divides are too great and the issues that are creating the divides are so decisive. There is no middle ground on the majority of them and the raging left loons are pushing this to the level that is going to create serious unrest.
In the past peaceful demonstrations were effective because the press and media gave them adequate coverage now anything that demonstration that is against the raging left will be whitewashed and the frustration levels are going to boil over.
I'm tired of defending RINOs.
There's a lot I don't like about McCain, e.g., immigration, support for bailout, etc. In a two party system you rarely get everything you want. Take a look at how the DUmmies hate Obama's appointments of old Clinton hands to cabinet positions.
Unless you prefer a parliamentary system, then you will find yourself needing to support a lesser of two evils type candidate.
I voted for Huckabee - but now I am glad he didn’t get the nomination!
I like Huckabee - but he has the same problem as McCain - He cottons up to the liberals!
Have you see Huckabee’s show on Fox? There for a whle he had quite a few liberals - “to hear” their views! Including that disgusting, empty-headed Bill Maher! I’m tired of conservatives having to “hear the views” of liberals but not the other way around - they will not hear our views!
Now the dork is trying to say that Palin is a “sore spot” for him, because of all the personal attacks she had to endure. Too late Johnny. Too late.
I’d like to know what “joke” that asshole Letterman said about Sarah in McCain’s presence that he laughed at. First of all, I am DONE with McCain, he is a disgrace to the Republican party. I voted for him because of Sarah, perhaps that is what pisses him off the most, that here she is, he was using her as eye candy and he wanted her to be a “good girl” to be cute, look at the camera, and repeat his talking points, when she did not do that, especially after he voted yes for that bailout, their relationship was DONE, and she turned on him, decided to speak her mind because she knew she was being used, she thought he was a man of honor, she should look at McCain’s first wife and ask her about McCain’s honor, that will give you all an idea about who the REAL John McCain is, I voted for him because of course what choice did I have, it was either a RINO or a Marxist, I voted for Sarah because she is real, legit, and authentic, about damn time we get a TRUE Reagan Conservative in the Republican party, the hell with John McCain, I wouldn’t piss on him if he were on fire, he is dead to me, yeah, dead, because of how he has treated Sarah, a woman who he should be kissing her feet or everything that she did for him, she busted her ass for him, and what did she get for it, being called a moron, stupid, idiot, a bad mother, every damn name in the book and here is McCain, on Letterman, the same asshole who last night mocked Sarah’s church being burned, and laughing about it. McCain can go to hell, or better yet, join the Democratic party, he has much more in common with them, what a disgrace he turned out to be. Sarah’s my girl, you mess with her, you mess with me, this means war Juan McCain
Don’t knock bacon and eggs...better he eat Eggos and margarine...the real culprits of heart disease!
When did the idiot say that? So Sarah is a sore spot for him or he said that he has a sore spot for everything she had to go through for him?
Please. Go easy one the Grandpas. I am one. Actually I am a Great Grandpa.
However, I'm not running for President. Not qualified but neither some that ran for the office. I wouldn't take the job if they handed it to me on a silver platter.
I wasn’t for McCain either - it was Sarah I wanted to see in Washington. But I think she has a big problem - she took on Alaska corruption in the GOP as well as the rats and I think she’d have a real hard time getting anything done in D.C. because both sides would be against her. She’s just never going to be part of anyone’s old boys network - which of course is one of the main reasons we, the people, love her.
It’s a rotten situation.
You nailed it! That is why I could never get cozy with McCain's 85% ACU rating -- because I know where his heart is. Same with Huck.
That doesn’t mean it has to be young blood.
Leadership is the missing ingrediant here. It would solve a lot of problems.
She would be a good place to start. Being independent can be lonely.
