I would be interested in hearing some names of politicians you like. The problem with all politicians is...well...they are politicians. Your example is pretty obscure and I imagine I can find fault in any person's thinking if I look hard enough. I think Newt has consistently demonstrated that he has a conservative bias in his thinking. And the man can articulate conservative ideas without a teleprompter which makes me think he really believes what he is saying.
It's the liberal bias in his thinking that gets to me. Explain his stance with Pelosi on Global Warming, with reference to how that's based on conservative thinking. It's not. And it would be a huge mistake to follow through with it, an even bigger money pit than Medicare Prescriptions or the Home Loans For Everybody scam.
His unthinking responses (i.e. his biases) tend to the left, not the right. I'm looking for folks who have a bias towards believing that whatever the Left says is a lie, and that whatever they ask for is a cover for what they really want.
Folks I agree with? I support the Club for Growth, they are one source of conservative folks, though some might not be socially conservative. Sarah Palin seems to have her head screwed on straight.
Leadership? The ones we tend to hear about are the ones that the MSM write about, and they don't write about conservatives, witness Duncan Hunters coverage in the primaries. So I can't point to any right now.
Oh, I had another thought. I like whatever politician thought up the ad that Newt is complaining about. You can’t do carrot-and-stick without the stick.
