We are in Iraq to keep Iran from seizing the oil fields.
We are in Iraq so that Saddam Hussein did not march into Kuwait and then on to Saudi Arabia and seize the oil fields.
Our presence in the middle east keeps the world’s energy supply flowing.
As for democratizing the middle east.......never in a million years.
