BAGHDAD (AFP) An Iraqi journalist hurled his shoes and an insult at George W. Bush, without hitting him, as the US president was shaking hands with the Iraqi premier at his Baghdad office on Sunday.
As the two leaders met in Nuri al-Maliki's private office, a journalist sitting in the third row jumped up, shouting: "It is the farewell kiss, you dog," and threw his shoes one after the other towards Bush.
Maliki made a protective gesture towards the US president, who ducked and was not hit.

See the video
here. The president was unhurt and told reporters, he was okay and said, "It doesnt bother me. So what if he threw a shoe at me. All I can report is it is a size 10." Photos
here at TMZ. Our President kept his sense of humor.

I thought only horses could throw shoes, but I guess it is possible for a jackass to do it also.

I can’t believe Secret Service gave the guy the time to grab his second shoe.
BTW, good duck Mr. President

I watched the video.
Here's my take: President Bush has EXCELLENT reflexes and is very agile!
They were pretty good throws and there was significant velocity. The President's response was measured and quite athletic. On the second throw (by then he knew the rules of the game), his dodge was just the minimum of effort needed to avoid getting hit.
I honor our President!

After reading the headline a few times today, I went ahead and watched it. I did not expect said shoes to be thrown that hard. Good duck indeed.

"The Secret Service is already obamized." I worked alongside the Secret Service in the eighties. You are OUT OF YOUR MIND, N()()B! They're about as conservative a group as you're likely to find anywhere. Will they guard Senator Obama with their lives? Of course. "Obamized" I highly doubt it...

Too bad he didn’t chuck it back.
President Bush has a good arm.
Did our media applaud and high five the Arab scumbag ?

It’s really an unexpected honor for Bush. He finally gets to face “enemy fire” in Iraq, and gets to joke about it afterward. He finally at long last reminded me of Reagan.

NEVER FORGET:
I noticed people throwing shoes at Saddam statues. Apparently this journalist worked for the Butcher and unlike his opponents he escapes with his life with the “insult.”

So - who’s gonna make the “shoebomber” connection first?
