I met Paul Anka briefly when he came into the recording studio I worked at to watch a group called The Drifters, who were recording that day. He looked very young and if I remember correctly he asked the group for autographs. This was about a year after he recorded “Diana”. Seemed like a nice kid to me but what did I know, I was only about 15 or 16 at the time.

“Roses are red, my love, violets are blue......”

To be honest, though, I could've sworn that was by Bobby Vinton...

Paul Anka composed the theme for “The Longest Day”:

Many men came here as soldiers
Many men will pass this way
Many men will count the hours
As they live the longest day
Many men are tired and weary
Many men are here to stay
Many men won’t see the sunset
When it ends the longest day
The longest day the longest day
This will be the longest day
Filled with hopes and filled with fears
Filled with blood and sweat and tears
Many men the mighty thousands
Many men to victory
Marching on right into battle
In the longest day in history

Here's a picture from the late 1960s, when wife #1 Anne de Zogheb, was 26. She was the daughter of a Lebanese diplomat and was married to Anka for 37 years. They have five daughters.

Wow, she could look through a keyhole with both eyes at the same time!

Get the feeling someone had a ‘mid life’ (ok...mid 60s) crisis...and I am guessing it wasnt Anne. What a pretty photo...it looks ‘current.’ I guesss everything comes ‘back.’ Thanks, Mila for posting the picture:)

Anna has been sentenced to three weeks house arrest.

She will be wearing a court-ordered anka bracelet.

Paul said not to worry, dear, just “put your head on my shoulder”.

I’d guess she was 55.
