KHQA reported in their Nov. 5, 2008, 5 p.m. newscast:
"Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the US Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled. Obama met with Governor Rod Blagojevich today in Chicago to discuss it. Ilinois law states that the Governor chooses that replacement. There's already been speculation about his selection, from Congressman Jesse Jackson, junior of Chicago's South Side who co-chaired Obama's presidential campaign..."

KHQA had all-day, close-of-business, 5 p.m. CST, to vet their facts. Right there in Illinois. A local phone call.

Sounds like they had their story.

There's your 'splainin'.
