Major Newspapers Will Fail After Christmas - So Much for Pandering to Women... [FR dissed]
Mens News Daily ^ | Dec 8, 2008 | Jim Peterson

Posted on 12/08/2008 12:29:06 PM PST by Jim Robinson

The Miami Herald and Chicago Tribune have practically announced bankruptcy and are both now valued at less than the value of the real estate they own (prime bay-front property in Miami and a skyscraper in Chicago).

Even better, McClatchy Newspapers itself, a newspaper chain with a documented anti-male bias, is saddled with so much debt that it will probably not last through 2009...

~~snip~~

A vestige of Andrew Marton’s article can be found at FreeRepublic.com where you can see that this once-conservative forum is now dominated by man-hating old women and FReepers discussing the story were no allowed to mention the word feminism in regard to the FReeper nmh’s hate-filled diatribes against men who would date foreign women (I know first-hand that any such comments mentioning feminism were deleted).

Exhibit C: The forum FreeRepublic.com was once a place for conservative men to bash feminism freely and often. It was the favorite topic for years. But, since early 2006, most anti-feminist FReepers have had their accounts deleted so as not to antagonize the aging baby boomer females the crippled owner, Jim Robinson, wants to keep in the Republican Party. Jim Robinson’s attitude seems to be just like that of Rupert Murdoch of Fox News…he seems to think that “strong feminist women” should be the backbone of the Republican Party. This is insane. I do NOT think these men are motivated by the concept that 80% of corporate purchase decisions are made by women.

It is easy to logon as a member of the once-mighty conservative FreeRepublic.com. Try doing so and mentioning feminism in a comment somewhere. See how quickly you can be deleted.

Then watch how the readership of the blog has fallen considerably since they turned feminist.

Where was the monetary advantage for this conservative forum to go feminist?

Freerepublic.com went off of my radar screen when the whole bunch of them tried to force their way into Terry Schiavo’s private life.

Oh, you mean when we got severely agitated because her husband, her caretakers, and the Government (Judge Greer) were about to kill her?

And because we knew that her husband -- wrongly installed as her conservator because he had moved on to a new girlfriend and children -- had been trying for years to get her killed?

It was a disgusting display from a group that was supposed to stand for personal freedom against government interference.

Yes, how disgusting of us to try to protect a poor, defenseless woman from being murdered by her supposed caretakers. All under the guise of "Terri wouldn't have wanted to be kept alive."

I'm sure you're sleeping much better, "Tony Ananda", now that Terri is dead.

Whatever happened to FairOpinion, somehow she missed the cut on this story?

What makes you think FO's a woman?

No one seems to know for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if she's a he. ";^)

the fool (socialist) from AZ was completely prepared, but just another liberal.

Sara is good on conservative principles, but lacks knowledge on numerous issues. She is no Reagan, but she can be if she spends the next 2 years becoming an expert and a leader on issues and not just a spokesperson for conservatives.

Funny, I see more women hating posts than I do man hating posts. Maybe this person should have taken a look at some of the divorce threads or child support threads.

LOL! I agree! And a lot of those gal-"hating" posts are mine. As a female who grew up around real men, raised by a mom who also grew up around real men, I've never figured women out. They're a mystery to me; I get along much better with men, and at parties, have to resist the urge to gravitate to where the guys are hanging out, even though their conversations are SO much more interesting and entertaining to me. Females baffle me; men are plain and straigtforward, as a general rule. Too many women I've known have exhibited plain dishonor when it comes to respecting men, boys, or fatherhood, and the double standard of single-parenthood is enough ot make any honest human scream. Ted Nugent, dog that he is, knocks up a gal, she nails him for enough child support to be a complete living wage on its own (and tax-free to boot), and way too many people buy the line that SHE's the victim, poor little woman. People chastize Nugent -- why don't they equally chastize the woman for allowing Nugent to knock her up?

Because there's double standard, that's why. It's okay for women to be victicrats, but not okay for men. In my book: IT'S ALWAYS WRONG TO BE A VICTICRAT.

Hey why can’t Helen Thomas, Kathleen Parker and that gal from the WSJ have FR accounts? We’re open minded...

And Rachel Maddow, now that’s a testiment to how accepting we are of other points of view.

Couldn’t agree more.
I love FR precisely because of posts like yours.

I learn so much from the strong REAL women on FR ~ esp the ones who love their husbands, as do I, and expect just as much from themselves as they do their good men.

Radical feminists make real women look bad. They also espouse liberal agendas borne of a complete disconnect from reality (and humanity in some cases, such as abortion), and for that, I loathe them.

(Am I still here? Just testing.)

Signed, an over40, conservative, female FReeper :-)

So far as I can tell FR is predominantly against 'anti-male feminism' and in favor of fairness. Any indications to the contrary?

It's not like Men's News Daily to be so off-the-mark like this.

Your point is well taken and accepted!

She did well, but needed to be unleashed early on.

If she is still interested in 4 years, I will back her just because she has a national name now, which is manditory for the presidency.

***That part I agree with. FR has been invaded and coopted by RINOs.

I wasn’t trying to diss. I was just using a little levity. Sometimes misspelled words add an underlining meaning to a point being made...

yeah, the bad press she got from the curic and lauer interviews handicapped her the rest of the campaign. it was plainly obvious that she had to think of what to say to please the mccain handlers instead of speaking her mind.

I was reading the posts at sportsshooter.com and those "journalists" are all saying things like:

"News organizations have long been the watchdog of democracy. As they continue to close/downsize state, Washington and foreign bureaus; who will be the public's eyes and ears on government?

Regardless of delivery method - print, broadcast or online - fewer reporters means fewer eyes, fewer stories, fewer opinions and fewer chances to hold our local, state and national leaders accountable.

The wholesale downsizing of news organizations is not just about the tragedy of our colleagues losing their jobs. It's the tragedy of an uninformed society."

End of quote. Amazing.
