$2.40 for a 12-oz can doesn't seem cheap to me. That works out to $.20 an ounce (or $3.20 a pound).

By comparison, I just priced fresh pork and fresh ground beef and they come out to $2.88 a pound and $2.24 a pound respectively. Even cheaper is poultry, which comes out to less than a dollar a pound if you buy it whole. An advantage to buying chickens (or turkeys) whole is that you can make soup out of it, further stretching your food dollar, which our family has done many times.

Yep, Turkey is about the cheapest meat on the market, and if you have a Cholesterol problem might help in that area also! My Thanksgiving turkey was less than 2 bucks a pound where I bought it, with a coupon. Can't beat that.

I believe this story is one designed to make us think we are all at deaths door, another scare tactic to help boost Bozo, so that after he takes over they can say, see things are instantly better!
