I believe you might be mistaken. Bergs case was denied, Im pretty sure. However, Justice Souter did issue some sort of request for Obama and the DNC to produce the documents named by Monday (birth certificate and several other things). It is not clear whether Obama and the DNC ignored or complied with this request. Got a link for that? Preferably Souter's written request. Otherwise, I think it's yet another internet rumour !

All Souter did was make a standard ruling that the defendants could file a response to the Berg pleadings if they wished. It is not required to file anything. He did not request a birth certificate or anything remotely like that.

I didn't say Berg's case was denied! Not sure where you got that blog insert, but it wasn't mine. I did respond to someone else that made that statement though.
Souter did deny his stay, Docket #08A371
His writ of certiorari Docket #08-570 does not have deny on it. You can check out the Supreme court dockets for this information.
