I think that Wal-Mart could have handled this better by getting the crowd in line outside the store, but that is hindsite speaking.

What disturbed me the most when I first read about this was finding out that they opened the store back up after only a few hours. It just seems beyond the bounds of decency to me that Wal-Mart didn’t at least close the store for 24 hours after an employee died in the store.

Hindsight not hindsite. Preview is wasted on me.

RE : “It just seems beyond the bounds of decency to me that Wal-Mart didn’t at least close the store for 24 hours after an employee died in the store.”

That doesnt bother me because that was Black Friday weekend, the weekend to make sales, only comes once per year, and it is a bad year for sales. And they will need that money they made to pay the lawsuits(always a good year for sales and for hospitals).

I guess in fairness if I was on the jury I would want to know why Walmart should have expected this might happen. If it happened before and they never took measures that would affect my decision. But in USA if you have money you are guilty. In Maryland people have won lawsuits against malls for being crime victims, but few hundred feet away on public street they would have no legal chance. Malls and stores must protect you, police have no obligation.
