We are only slowly becoming allies with India. We have had a lot of work to do to overcome the fact that they have nuclear weapons which put them on our bad boy list.

You may remember a guy named Mansoor Ijaz, Fox news analyst.

He wrote a detailed column, that unlike all his others, was not in an American or conservative publication but in the UK Guardian where he described in detail the fortress and circular defenses where Binny is holed up.

Didn’t get much coverage at all, and it was funny that he wrote it for the Guardian instead of an American newspaper. A few years ago, 04, IIRC.

He named PoK and the Chitral valley as the location.

Didn’t find the original article but here’s one that references Ijaz’s info....

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2003/aug/23/alqaida.terrorism

Mr Ijaz, who has recently visited Pakistan, believes Bin Laden is protected by an elaborate security cordon of three concentric circles, in which he is guarded first by a ring around 120 miles in diameter of tribesmen, whose duty is to reportany approach by Pakistani troops or US special forces.

Inside them is a tighter ring, around 12 miles in diameter, made up of tribal elders who would warn if the outer ring were breached. At the centre of the circles is Bin Laden himself, protected by one or two of his closest relatives and advisers. Bin Laden has agreed with the elders that he will use no electronic communications and will move only at night and between specified places within a limited radius.

——He just mentions the Northern Tribal Areas, that we assume are Pakistan’s FATA and NWFP, when PoK is is referred to as the Northern Area......semantics :>>

Polls show the same across the Islamic world. Pakistan has bled more fighting al Queda than any other country other than Iraq and Afganistan.

Who knows where you get your whacky ideas but Pakistan has been a firm ally for half a century. It was friendly to the West when India was pursuing socialist policies and communist ties.

Yes I do remember Mansoor Ijaz when he was an analyst at Fox. I used to hang on to every word he said. I admired him for his obvious intelligence, his knowledge, his courteous manner, and the passion in his voice regarding the War on Terror.

Although a Pakistani, Mansoor seemed to me to be an American patriot genuinely abhorred by what BinLaden and his alqaeda scum had done to his native country.

If Ijaz believes that OBL is in Chitral, there’s better than a good chance that he’s there.

BTW, I appreciate your informative comments on this thread....

I read somewhere that the great 19th Century German Chancellor, Otto Von Bismark, once said that one of the great factors of the 20th Century would be the fact that Britain and the US spoke a common language. Maybe there’s something like that happening with Britain, America, India, and Israel in the 21st Century.

I get my “wacky” ideas straight from interacting with Pakistani Americans that I know... when they open up and spew out what they truly think and feel about America. I don't know how and why these people are allowed to stay in this country. Their goal is to islamify this entire Nation... and as I said... they blame America for 9/11 and every other ill they construe against the death cult they call their religion. I will say that they are not unknown to those that need to know. It is you that have “wacky” ideas about Pakistan and the ROP... ROP... religion of pieces... as in chopping infidels into little ones.

The ANGLOSPHERE, an expansive version of which would would include not only the Australia and the New Zealand, but even some countries in Africa and the Carib, particularly in a linguistic and somewhat cultural ie. cricket, sense, but for the purposes of combatting Jihad, you’re correct.

I would expect that I know more about Islam than you do having closely studied it for 25 years even going so far as to read the Koran as idiotic a book as has ever been written. There are no illusions on my part as to what that fraudulent religion is about or that it is an accurant reflection of its perverted criminal founder.

That being said all religions have followers who are born into it but do not live up to its beliefs, commandments. Just as many “Christians” do not live up to the demands of following Christ so many “Moslems” do not live down to the demands of Mohammed.

Thus, when there are opportunities for an alliance against a common enemy they should be taken without destroying the chance with anti-Islamic rhetoric. Iraq shows how such alliances can be of use. Had we just been consumed by Moslem hatred as you are we could have never achieved the incredible results there that our forces have achieved.

If we can ally with Stalin allying with Pakistan is not a problem.

Al Queda’s attack is an attempt to undermine Pakistan as much as anything.

Glass the place and be done with the lot of them.

Sorry I was mistaken in believing you wanted to have a serious conversation about a serious problem. Let your emotion take a walk elsewhere.

I see there are quite a few on this thread that see it for what it is and I agree. Big show with no results to be expected.

It's become a serious problem because a bunch of State Dept Braniacs let it become one. You know the type. They're the ones who insist we can 'reason' with muslims.

So here's the plan.

India attacks Pak from their border. We attack Pak from the Afghan border. While India destroys the regular Pak Army along their border, we 'pacify' the 'tribal areas' with a sustained bombing campaign. About a month ought to do it.

DIplomatically we tell the Paks loudly, publicly, and often that ANY use of nuclear weapons will result in the utter and complete destruction of the rats nest they call a country by the US nuclear arsenal.

Once we've reduce the population on the Pak/Afghan border by 1/3 we ask really politely for the rest of AQ and the Taleban.

Simultaneously India asks very politely for the heads of the leadership of the Pak ISI.

Should take about a month or so....

How's that for serious, Scooter?

Regarding Mansoor Ijaz, I haven’t seen him recently, where is he? I always thought he seemed particularly well informed.

It would seem with its waining breath, the Bush administration agrees with me about Pakistan... I guess 25 years didn't teach you everything that you needed to know.

“Act now, or we will step in, US warns Pakistan
Rediff ^ | 6 December, 2008 | Rediff”

“US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has told Pakistan that there is “irrefutable evidence” of involvement of elements in this country in the Mumbai terror attacks and it had no option but to act urgently and effectively to avert a strong international response.

Rice “pushed” the Pakistani leaders to move against the perpetrators of the terror strikes warning that “otherwise, the US will act”, the Dawn reported on Saturday.”

I my world... them’s fightin’ words. We shall see...

Nothing there is new. We have been running attacks against these “elements” for years. Now the difference maybe international responses may occur whatever that might be.

It is escalating. IMHO this will end with the destruction of Pakistan or our destruction. I see no “in-between”. I hope I am wrong but I see nothing positive... and we have a muzzie radical taking over in a few weeks. Bush knows what must be done but I have no faith that he will do anything but run out HIS clock.

Given the obstructive power of the Treason media Bush has done all he can do.  It has not helped that people who should know better have joined that power in undermining the President.

Pakistan may not survive if it cannot put down the terrorist movement there.  India will only go so far but should it come to India vs. Pakistan my sentiments are totally with India and I have no doubt we would help it prevail.

However, we cannot move in such a way that the ungovered areas grow exponentially providing greater sanctuary for the terror movement.
