The IDF is drawing up options for a strike on Iranian nuclear facilities that do not include coordination with the United States, The Jerusalem Post has learned.
While its preference is to coordinate with the US, defense officials have said Israel is preparing a wide range of options for such an operation.
"It is always better to coordinate," one top Defense Ministry official explained last week. "But we are also preparing options that do not include coordination."
Israeli officials have said it would be difficult, but not impossible, to launch a strike against Iran without receiving codes from the US Air Force, which controls Iraqi airspace. Israel also asked for the codes in 1991 during the First Gulf War, but the US refused.
"There are a wide range of risks one takes when embarking on such an operation," a top Israeli official said.
Several news reports have claimed recently that US President George W. Bush has refused to give Israel a green light for an attack on Iranian facilities. One such report, published in September in Britain's Guardian newspaper, claimed that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert requested a green light to attack Iran in May but was refused by Bush.

We knew it was coming. Israel has no reason to believe that Barack Hussein Obama gives a rip about its continued existence.
And with no radar codes and IFF info it will be a huge air battle Isreal vs U.S.
Great pilots vs the U.S. Airforce.
LLS
Exactly.
Th USAF isn’t going to engage Israeli pilots! Are you smokin’ Qat?
It would be a lot easier for the IDF to have our cooperation than to sneak around our eyes and ears on the ground in Iraq- they can’t do it anyway. So I’m sure they’ve secured a non-interference agreement with the U.S. If not, this may be propaganda to convince US to agree to one.

Seeing as I am just finishing reading Epicentre by Joel Rosenberg, I say full steam ahead - and the sooner the better.
I can also see Hillary failing trying to stop them.
Gonna have to get my book back from my parents...and read it.
Some scary facts about the evil and insane one “leading” Iran.

Common sense
who would share ANY intelligence with those yellow-badged radicals running around in teams (under the command of some Harvard radical moonbat "national security advisor") ordered by Bush to have complete access to every agency- looking for dirt to use to fire or intimidate all the DC bureaucrats
Personally I think Inauguration day just before the oath of office is taken by our constitutonally-ineligible fraud of a president-elect
But having been our friends for a long time the Israelis might take action while Bush is still in office so we have someone competent in the US Capitol to deal with the after effects and defend us.
God help us all.
They need ‘consent’ to traverse the Iraqi airspace, otherwise they’re liable to get picked up by airborne and SAM assets. Then there’s the high-probability of post-attack rocket barrages and IED attacks against US bases and troop convoys in Iraq.
Consent as in access to Iraqi airspace. Without which it will be a much more difficult mission.
Israel isn’t going to cross Iraq without US permission. There’ll be no US/Israel conflict. There may be an Iran/US conflict after a strike, which is why it may make sense for the US to cooperate, even if the Bush administration is opposed strategically. I don’t take that conflict as a certainty, Iran may well back down post-strike.
Israel has two things that are sorely missing in the US:
1. A huge brass set of cojones.
2. A strong desire for self preservation.
God bless Israel as they apply the big smack down to the new-clar muzzies.
IMHO, any attack on Iran by Israel will be a stunning success.
It's kinda hard to back down when you're a sea of molten glass.
Considering the militarily weak US commander-in-chief that will be in office next year, I think this is a wise course of action by Israel.
Israel isn’t going to use nukes. I was referring to their threats to attack American interests. Which should be taken seriously, and imo point to the necessity of aiding in a strike, since we’ll be involved anyway. But their reaction could be similar to that of Syria, or Sadaam’s. Noise, and that’s all.
We'll know whether this is true if they vote for Netanyahu and do not reelect Tzipi the Pinhead.
