I quoted from NASB. You may have a cookie for Bible Gateway to use the KJV. The NASB is one of the most accurate translations, certainly more so than the Mormon bible.

Note that this is one place where Satan actually told the truth to sneak in the lie about not dying. The sin was disobedience not wanting to be like God we are commanded to emulate him.

Ah, but disobedience of what? Original sin goes deeper than eating a piece of fruit. The sin was pride: wanting to be like God. Eve didn't want the fruit; she wanted to be like God.
