Pakistani Gunmen Kidnap American Head of UN Office, Kill Driver
Suspected Islamic militants abducted the American director of the United Nations refugee agency in southwest Pakistan yesterday and killed his driver, police said.
Four gunmen in the city of Quetta halted the car of John Solecki, head of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees office, as he drove from home to work, said Khalid Masood, the Quetta police superintendent. It was the most high-profile abduction of a Westerner in several years, and the third attack in five months on Americans working in Pakistan’s ethnic Pashtun zone bordering Afghanistan in the country’s west.....

Taliban Take Second American Hostage
The name of the first American being held by the Taliban? I’ve been asked by my moral and intellectual superiors in the MSM not to mention his name nor to claim that the Taliban have taken him hostage. He is, after all, a reporter who works for a major U.S. newspaper. Never mind that the be silent and wait it out strategy only works when you are negotiating a ransom. In the case of Islamist extremists who have become hip to the new realities of the decreasing propaganda value of taking American hostages, then it’s a silly dead end.
When he’s released we’ll know exactly why. And if he’s murdered? Oh, I will name names.....
