The election may be over, but not the controversy.
Just when you thought the flap over the genuineness of Barack Obama's birth certificate was all said and done, in comes the We The People Foundation.
The group purchases a full-page ad in The Chicago Tribune - the newspaper of the president-elect's hometown - today and Wednesday, called "Open Letter to Mr. Obama." It's described by the foundation as a "formal Petition for a Redress (Remedy) for the alleged violation of the 'natural born citizen' clause of the Constitution of the United States of America."

"Mr. Obama is respectfully requested to direct the Hawaiian officials to provide access to his original birth certificate on December 5-7 by our team of forensic scientists, and to provide additional documentary evidence establishing his citizenship status prior to our Washington, D.C. press conference on December 8," the foundation says. PolitiFact has said it has no reason to doubt the authenticity of the document.
Among other complaints, the foundation charges:

“i want to know the name of the HOSPITAL he was born in, and see THEIR records!!!”
Me too!
“LOL. Its certainly a subject that get peoples backs-up! I have no political views on the subject and take no sides. Flash to bang in how many posts? Freepers vanity posts after the swearing in will certainly be prime time reading.
The only way I can imagine someone not having a political, or any other view on this subject is if that someone is either ignorant of the subject or doesn’t care at all about the U.S., the Presidency, nor our military men & women.
This isn’t a sitcom, buddy, this is serious. The fact that you are making light of an extremely important situation suggest that you do not understand the situation.
You don't spend a million dollars on a joke against someone you don't like.
Great post.
Further, Mr. Vieira cited a fraud ruling in a 1977 case called U.S. v. Prudden, which he feels applies in this case.
“Silence can only be equated with fraud when there is a legal and moral duty to speak or when an inquiry left unanswered would be intentionally misleading,” the ruling reads. “We cannot condone this shocking conduct ... If that is the case we hope our message is clear. This sort of deception will not be tolerated and if this is routine it should be corrected immediately.”
Now if only you would quit trying to silence the opposition and wait for justice to run it’s course.
There are, at any given moment, probably about a dozen threads on this subject going full bore. It doesn't look like I'm silencing anything. Just trying to interject a bit of sanity.
I’d much rather see FR and conservatives getting worked up about this. No matter what you think will happen the best outcome would truly be for enough people to grow a pair or find out they already have a pair and start demanding to see the BC.
Simple really, but you keep trying to stick a fork in it. Another - the biggest - constitutional violation doesn’t bother you ehh? And do you truly claim to be a freeper and a conservative?
And this guys considered the greatest thing since grits?
Or perhaps another alternative would be for someone to produce the evidence that Obama was actually born overseas? Evidence, not internet rumor. Because that's the only way he's ever going to be brought to court and forced to produce the birth certificate, if someone can cast a reasonable doubt on his claims. Nobody seems to be able to do that.

Constitutional violations bother me a lot. So point the violation out here. Obama isn't a natural born citizen? Prove it and I'm on board with you.
The “rule” word was meant to remind people that Obama’s folks used that word. The “destined” word is that O thinks it’s his destiny.
