This imaginary situation would not help republicans and would hurt them even

That is exactly what this issue is, an imaginary situation. Unfortunately, all this issue is doing is distracting us from figuring out how the Republicans are going to win back the trust of the people and retake the congress.

Fellow Freepers would be very unhappy with the effects of this.

Very true, but few want to believe in reality.

Before I'm accused of defending Osama Obama, let me remind many that I was accused of being a McCainiac for continually stating that it was everyone's duty to vote for McCain as Obama needed to be defeated at all costs!!!!

I agree with 100%. Over on the other side democrats kept the moonbats locked up so they could win, but they did keep them angry too. I am hoping this is just temporary with the lame duck congress and GWB post election frustration, and next year when real issues appear they will be the focus. (actually the UAW bailout and GA senate race are right NOW and should be main issues)

When I tell them to have fun even though its not going anyplace they get pissed over that too.

Actually these are REAL cases as opposed to an imaginary distraction. Not only is it not a distraction but it is an excellent opportunity to familiarize oneself with the US Constitution.

I am sure you could have performed miracles in the time it took for you to read and consider this.

Why isn’t every citizen concerned that the Constitution be upheld in such an important instant? And why would you believe the GOP has any importance if a fundamental aspect of the Constitution can be casually disregarded?
