I've seen that for a long time now, but it's not as if it gives you total control because it doesn't because you can't tote them around doing your daily thing (nor would I want to).
No, there is literally nothing you can do in real world circumstances when facing an armed, reasonably knowledgable, assailant if you yourself are unarmed.
That's the part I hate. All my life I've been a passive sheep. Somewhere late in life I found some mettle and want to fight back any way I can (unless faced with genuine martyrdom). Knowing me, I'd want to at least cuss them out :-( which good little martyrs aren't supposed to do.
I don't like to take no for an answer. Most cases it's obvious there's no way to fight back against that, but just sometimes, maybe, with prayer and quick instincts, you might see an opening and risk it even if unarmed.
Actually, you can, and many do, tote guns around all the time while doing their thing. No one promises “total control,” but to be unarmed is to be totally without control.
As for exploiting hypthetical opportunities...in real life there are none. The bad guys won’t let you have one. That’s their job. Hoping for such opportunities is like running up your credit card before buying a lottery ticket.
