Too many people underestimated him on both sides of the aisle. He’s far from stupid and all too willing to say what he needs to be said in the moment to garner attention and votes. He was told by people in the know that if he just pulls out of Iraq then the place goes to pot in no time flat and he gets the blame. Not only that he loses the trust of the military and that simply won’t fly either.

He’s going to be far more centrist than promised which will be really hard to beat in 4 years.

He doesn’t last four years. Not that he won’t hold office, but he’s going to be ignored by events.

Do not worry about how to defeat him in four years, worry about what is he is going to do in the next four years. The man has no leadership qualities and in time of war that is the worst thing to have in a President. If you think that Obama can take a strong stand in the war, take the heat when the going gets tough and stays the course as President Bush did then you are deluding yourself.

I'm find with him if he goes more centrist. The reason I woke up on Nov. 5th in a state of panic, is I was worried he was going to do all the idiot things he campaigned on. LUckily, he isn't stupid and he is hopefully accepting the reality of the situation in Iraq.

I want what is best for our country, and if O does what's best for our country, I'm okay with that.

If Obama and McCain had essentially the same politics, then what exactly was the election about then, just personality?

Some of these pacifists may get a little less so when the type of terrorist attack that is happenining in India now starts to happen here. What will Obama do? The peace mongers just don’t get that it’s us or them.

My mom recently got searched before getting on a flight and she said she had to laugh because the muslim looking guys in front of her in line got on the plane with no search whatsoever and she had been a little scared thinking they were on the plane with her and she had expected security to search them. Instead, they single out a seventy year old woman? A couple of liberals I told this story to said it was my mom’s fault for having those thoughts about the guys with darker skin color. Karma.

Obama is a very smart man. It will take a determined and united coalition to beat him.

I think you are right.

Obama is a very very slick politician and more of a pragmatist than a doctrinnaire lib. He used the Wright Church to get into the Illinois Senate and then dumped him when he became inconvenient. He may have used the American libs for the same reason.

He made an intersting statement recently. He mentioned the number of votes he got and then the number McCain got. Obviously no landslide.

A pragmatist like him probably took the hint.

Liberal yes - but probably not so liberal than he can’t learn from experience and act appropriately to assure his coninuted political popularity.

I underestimated him. He is a lot smarter than Hillary and may be smarter than Bill Clinton.
